Apium graveolens var. dulce
Upright and compact habit. Dark green stalks and foliage growing to 70cm. Slightly ribbed, smooth, stringless stalks; can be used raw or cooked. Leaves are used as a flavouring; fresh or dried. Ideal in salads, soups, stews and as a cooked vegetable. Good disease tolerance.
Keep well watered. May bolt in cold weather. Protect from slugs and snails. Susceptible to leaf spot. Pick outside stalks as required.
Grown using organic heirloom open pollinated seed, no sprays, no chemicals in organic nutrient rich soil with gypsum, volcanic rock, minerals and compost in trays. No blood and bone no fish.
